The EBZ230M-4 is an integrated roadheader-bolter developed for underground roadway excavation, temporary roof support and multi-zone bolting.
It is a specially developed integrated system for tunneling, anchoring, and temporary support. It directly addresses the safety and efficiency pain points of traditional separate tunneling and support operations, such as large unsupported roof distances, numerous personnel, and disjointed processes. It is suitable for small-section semi-coal/full-rock roadways with a diameter of 3.1-4.8m and a pressure of ≤85MPa. The machine is equipped with a 362kW powertrain and features four zoned anchor drilling rigs, allowing four people to simultaneously perform anchoring operations. Dual hydraulic and electrical interlocks for tunneling and anchor drilling eliminate the danger of overlapping operations, enabling parallel tunneling, supporting, and anchoring operations. This significantly reduces unsupported roof time, decreases on-site personnel, and simultaneously improves the efficiency of both tunneling and support.

● Four Independently Operated Bolting Rigs: Equipped with four symmetrically arranged anchor drilling rigs, one machine can replace a standalone tunneling machine plus multiple individual anchor drilling rigs, reducing the number of equipment required. The four symmetrically arranged anchor drilling rigs can be operated independently, allowing four workers to drill and anchor simultaneously in designated areas, doubling anchoring efficiency.
● Hydraulic and Electrical Safety Interlocks: The tunneling and anchor drilling processes are equipped with hydraulic and electrical double interlocks. During tunneling operations, the anchor drilling mechanism locks, and the cutting system stops during the anchoring stage, eliminating the risk of collisions during overlapping construction. Combined with onboard advanced temporary support, support is provided as tunneling progresses, effectively reducing the risk of roof collapse and perfectly solving the safety problem of excessively long unsupported roofs in traditional tunneling and support systems.
● Onboard Temporary Roof Support: The temporary roof-support system is used after excavation and before or during permanent bolt installation. It helps reduce the unsupported roof exposure at the working face and provides protection while operators carry out drilling and anchoring operations.

The main difference between the EBZ230M-4 and a conventional roadheader is its integrated four-rig bolting system.
Four bolting rigs are arranged in left-front, left-rear, right-front and right-rear working positions. Each rig can be controlled independently, allowing operators to drill and install bolts in different support zones during the same bolting cycle.
